Heat pumps to undergo 'tighter regulations'

I was interested to read the following article on the BBC News website www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-11200063 on the 8 September which discusses the need for heat pumps to undergo 'tighter regulations'. It seems this is because there is a general lack of research into their performance.

Installing heat pumps isn't cheap but for those who are keen to protect the environment this form of renewable energy is very effective.

While these systems are not suitable for everyone I was surprised to read that there was evidence to suggest a number of systems hadn't performed well. I will be interested to see what recommendations the working party come up with to improve training and installation standards as I have always thought them to be extremely effective in sustaining the environment by reducing CO2 and cutting annual bills. We are becoming more and more aware of the environment and heat pumps are a very effective way to create renewable energy making us more sustainable.
