We’re all drawn towards individuals and businesses that took the lead and decided if things were going to happen, they would contribute early on almost without thought for return or recognition. It’s been a long time building up global awareness of the issues facing business and the environment and some might say we still have a long way to go.
Governments talk about a green economy and sustainability and have started to introduce green or Eco Tax initiatives designed to encourage the use of energy saving products, or low carbon goods and services. In the commercial world, businesses have looked at methods of energy saving manufacture and many have diversified to the manufacture of the energy saving products being adopted across all aspects of our life as awareness of recycling and renewable energy alternatives rises.
The manufacturers of over 9000 products which meet the UK Government prescribed energy efficiency criteria can be found in the Energy Technology List, and investment in these products provides up front tax relief for businesses paying corporation or income tax under the Enhanced Capital Allowances Scheme.
Some of these manufacturers are global organisations, but looking around our catchment area to the north and west of London, from Oxford across Reading, we can see local manufacturers who have made a contribution through their products. What interests us is the future for the smaller manufacturer of energy saving products and other businesses associated with sustainability and carbon reduction. How can we help them to develop the space they already occupy by bringing our expertise to their table?
The key lies in working with a team that understands their business and not just business in general. All businesses have the same core issues , tax, finances and regulation for example. Businesses associated with climate change have some very specific issues, a major one being effect of Governemnt policy and actions targetted at the sector. We understand the challenges that face business and the low carbon economy, come and talk to us.
